We are born to travel. Even when we were young, we wanted to go to the places we’ve never been. Time and money are holding us back.
I envy those who have travelled abroad. They have witnessed how towering the Burj Khalifa, how romantic witnessing the northern lights in Europe, how pure the snow in Japan during winter, and to the busy street in New York. Experience that are worth sharing with their friends when they get back.
This might sounds crazy to you, but with the use of technology, specifically Google maps, we can navigate almost any places on Earth. When I discovered this type of service by Google, I’m so amazed. With its amazing features, streets views and panoramic effects, it felt like I’m also present on that occasion.
With lack of time and money at the moment, I’ve been travelling around the world using Google maps. It’s a form of virtual travel, and I call it a world tour. World tour often refers to a journey in which the artist visits different places to perform.
Here are some of the screenshots taken during my world tour.
These are just a few virtual places I’ve been. Any recommendations will be highly appreciated. With less time and money, it seems difficult to travel these parts of the world.
I have learned that we can gain more time and money, only if we start working smarter. Time is more valuable than money. Once our time is spent, it cannot be recapture. Money is also essential because it supports our lifestyle, but it can still be earn once we are broke. So spend your time wisely.
Let me share you a story. When I was working in Ortigas Center, one of my colleague and also a friend, invited me on a business discussion. The speaker on that event, shared his story. I’m so amazed by his accomplishments. Not because of how much money he earned, but how much time he have.
The speaker was a full time employee before his success. He was earning enough money for the family, but something is missing he said. He realized that he was losing more time with his family. The more he worked harder, the more he earns, but the more he is trapped in a rat race. It’s an endless cycle of him working for money, not money working for him.
He then decided to start a business. Slowly but surely, he gain more time. He learned to make money work for him. He then quit his job and continued his entrepreneurial journey. He is now happier than ever before. Just spending more time with family, doing a world tour, and less time with work.
Let his story be an inspiration to all of us. Let’s be honest, we want more time, more time with family and friends to cherish and memories to make, but we also need money. Let’s work smarter to acquire these both. By successfully acquiring more time and money, the world is yours. Do whatever you want and go to the places you have never been. Travel with your family and friends. No one is stopping you now.
As Covid-19 pandemic greatly affects tourism globally, no flights locally and abroad. Want to travel now? Try doing my virtual travel for now, you might learn something while navigating Google maps.
While it seems that almost everything is virtual right now, I’ll end this with a quote from one of my favorite sci-fi movies Ready Player One. As Wade said, “People need to spend more time in the real world, ‘cause like halliday said, reality is the only thing that’s real.”
