Don’t keep thinking about things you cannot do anything about. It’s better to move forward than to stay stuck with the past. We can’t rewrite history. You have to stop taking responsibility for things you can’t control. You fell in love. It was a whirlwind romance — love that knows no complications and consequence, only living and loving for the moment. Until, life hits you hard because that’s how life works. And you will see your differences and impossibilities.
There are two ways to go:
1. the ones who risk it all because they have nothing to lose and
2. the ones who let go because they have everything to lose.
There is a third one reserved for the very rare:
(3.) the ones who risk it all knowing they will lose everything.
Where do you belong? That’s not a bad thing. You see, love comes and goes. And if you chase after love, you are a fool. Everyone makes mistakes as long as we learn from them and we try hard to fix them.
Love comes when it pleases and leaves when it chooses. Leaving someone doesn’t mean they don’t love you. Oftentimes, they leave because THEY DO LOVE YOU. And your ruin will ruin them as well. SACRIFICES often hurt. It’s not easy. It’s not fun but often times necessary. It’s not complicated. You’re just making it so, so that your heart can hold on to whatever small smidge of connection to the one you were with in the past. I do know that no matter how bad things get; the true test is how we respond to the pain we suffer or inflict. And the only way to get over that pain is to go through it.
Being left is sometimes a gift, a time to evaluate where you’re headed and why you’re headed there. And the ones who leave may or may not return. But they are not totally lost. They are a part of you forever. You can’t choose who you’re attracted to. You can’t. You can’t engineer a relationship. You have to do what is right. It’s about making an effort to take little steps to meet the person halfway.
And one day, you will thank them because if they did not do what they did you may not end up where you’re supposed to be, or maybe you will look at them in the eyes while holding their hands and watching the sunset — happy with all your decisions because it may have looked wrong. But damn, it looked perfect now. It’s the other way. Maybe all this heartbreak will lead to a nice future, together.
If you change one decision, everything in the future will shift as well. Love is supposedly beautiful, but it also turns you into someone very selfish. We can’t control what happens to us, only how it affects us and the choices we make. Make the right choice.
Life is unfair. The world owes you nothing. You have to live your life. Stand up for yourself. Because the truth is, nobody’s gonna do it for you. Emotions are hard, really hard. But that’s why they make you strong. You just have to be patient. You never know when or where inspiration will strike. Sometimes it takes an overwhelming breakdown for an undeniable breakthrough. Live to pursue your dreams. Live for yourself.
